Basement Wall Repair
Are your basement walls cracked, buckling, leaning, and/or bowing? This could indicate a structural hazard and a safety issue for you and your family. The longer this is left unaddressed, the more expensive and difficult it can be to repair.
Bowed basement walls are most often caused by hydrostatic pressure. The soil around your home becomes saturated and puts pressure against your basement walls. Without properly functioning exterior drainage and waterproofing systems, basement walls can fail. Also, some basement walls were laid with no grout or rebar, weakening more easily over time.
Our team will use the highest quality products and repair techniques to fix existing damage. Our approach depends on the severity of the problem (e.g. how far the walls have buckled or bowed). We will also implement any necessary solutions to prevent future damage, such as installing a properly functioning exterior drain and waterproofing system to limit hydrostatic pressure on the basement walls.
We work with licensed engineers to determine the precise problems and the proper solution. If you notice damage to your basement walls, call our team to get your questions answered.
Four Methods to Fix a Bowed Wall
Replace
Some severely compromised walls are best removed and rebuilt.
I-Beams
Basement walls can be stabilized with steel I-Beams that are placed vertically against the wall and spaced anywhere from 3 to 6 feet apart.
Carbon Fiber
Strips of carbon fiber are adhered to the wall in order to stabilize any further movement.
Wall Anchors
Helical anchors bolt through the basement wall and into the exterior ground to re-align and stabilize basement walls.
